Bloggers know it’s important to put out content consistently. And sometimes that can be difficult due to work schedules, traveling, family time, health issues, and generally not having enough time to sit down and write out posts.
The best thing you can do is create content where ever you can
These steps will help you create content where ever you are, whenever you can, and very quickly. Keep in mind that quality of these posts is extremely important. I don’t want you to rush your blog posts. The steps will help you create ideas, blog faster, and spend less time creating content. But I still want you to edit them thoroughly and put a lot of thought behind these posts!
Are you ready? Here are the five steps for creating better blog content on the go
1. Use Every Opportunity For Inspiration
If you are a style beauty or lifestyle blogger I want you to take a look around at your surroundings. It doesn’t matter where you are. Believe me you can find blog post ideas if you just look.
Take walking down a busy street for example…
What are people wearing? What is some style advice you can give the lady that just passed you? What make up advice you have for her? Did she do something right or wrong? Did she do something new?
These are sample questions that can turn into blog posts.
Just from taking a walk down the street you have five new post ideas.
So use this practice everywhere you go: take a look around you.
What type of blog posts can you create based on the things you see? Write some down in a journal or on your notes application on your phone.
2. Take Your Camera Everywhere
This is especially helpful for social media content creation. A camera or a phone camera can help you create a social media content right away.
I encourage you to start taking photos of your everyday habits your life your surroundings and the things you find interesting. They make wonderful social media graphics and content. All you have to do is make sure they relate to your brand.
So if you are a lifestyle blogger, the best way to connect with your audience is to show off your lifestyle. This means taking photos of the things you do and you see every day.
Believe me, if you take 10 photos today you have at least one photo per everyday of the week that you could use for the next month. You don’t have to be strategic about this. Just shoot as many photos as you can that relate to your brand while you’re on the go.
Think of your next vacation: How much content can you turn up with just vacation photos? You can create a whole summer blog series with the photos you take.
I learned this when I attended a blogger meet and greet. All the wonderful ladies there had their cameras out shooting little details.
To be honest, I did feel a bit of an outsider. I wasn’t used to taking my camera everywhere. In fact, I really didn’t like whipping out my phone in front of people. But then I realized that content creation needs to happen wherever you go. These ladies got at least 10 blog posts worth of photos just from one hour. I was so impressed!
So don’t be afraid to be that person standing in front of a cute coffeeshop and taking a photo. Believe me, everyone is doing it and no one is going to judge you. And if they do judge you, don’t pay any attention. Your blog content creation is more important than just a strangers opinion.
3. Write Things Down In A Journal
I love carrying a small moleskin journal with me wherever I go. I get post ideas from everything I see, hear, feel, and say. To me, the best ideas happen out in nature and out in public. So I am going to capitalize on that by writing everything down.
You never know what can turn into a blog post. Sometimes you’ll get a really good idea and then forget about it. To prevent that from happening carry a small journal and write your blog posts out or write titles out for blog posts!
You don’t have to write out all your posts by hand. But you can outline your blogs. And outlining is a crucial step in building a lot of content very quickly. I outline all my posts before I write them. That way all I have to do is just fill in the important details.
I really recommend this journal because it’s super chic and very lightweight. And if you can’t use a journal, use your Notes app on your phone.
4. Record Yourself Or Record An Interview
This blog post was actually recorded from speech to text.
Simply because I didn’t have the time to write it all out! And I can spend hours writing blog posts, but when I want them to sound natural, and to get to the point really quickly, I prefer recording them.
I may be recording them in public spaces. But who cares? People assume I’m doing important stuff. Which I am!
Furthermore I can repurpose my content because now I have a recorded version. And that recorded version can turn into a podcast, or a YouTube video.
Use whatever recording program you can. If anything, just to jot down ideas. That way you can literally talk out your posts and then edit them, type them out later, or just hit publish.
It’s really simple once you get the hang of it. If you’re on the go and don’t have a computer perhaps a voice recording is the best option.
5. Create Videos Daily
We all know that video is an important influencer strategy in 2018. From YouTube to IGTV, video is taking over social media like a storm. And if you’re not on video now, it may already be too late.
You can record videos daily to help build your brand.
If you are a style blogger, record five minutes increments of your outfits. Tell the reader where you found this outfit, how much it cost, where they can find it, what you like or dislike about the outfit, and what you plan on wearing next.
There you go: you just created a new style series in less than five minutes.
If you’re a beauty blogger, do a quick daily makeup tutorial. You don’t even have to talk. Just show your audience the products and record yourself putting makeup on. Link to the product afterwards.
For all the lifestyle bloggers out there, there are tons of videos you can create everyday that will only take one or two minutes.
Perhaps it’s a new product you’re trying. Or maybe it’s a tip you learned. Share it with the world!
You don’t need a fancy camera. You don’t need a YouTube channel. Use one platform and then expand if you feel comfortable. I highly suggest doing daily IG stories and lives. And if you can’t do those then just spend 10 minutes every weekend creating one video you can upload to YouTube.
Start small and then start recording more and more if you feel up for it.
And there you have it there are five ways you can make blog content on the go!
